Bloom FAQs

Corporate number & address: 1-866-55-BLOOM

Salibury, NC 28145

Blooms website: www.shopbloom.com

Sign up for a Bloom card ie: Breeze card to get maximum savings at CS

Even though they are a sister store to Food Lion, they do not take FL internet printable coupons.

Bloom accepts both internet printables (when they are legitimate and scan) and manufacturers coupons.

They frequently have dollars off your total amount coupons, check their website and flyer.
You won’t see me talking about Bloom during a normal week. I find their prices to be generally higher than their sister store, Food Lion, and they don’t double coupons everyday. However, here in Charlotte, they have been TRIPLING coupons every month pretty regularly.

Here are the triples rules:

They will triple up to 20 coupons with a face value of up to .99.  That .99 coupon will be worth $2.97 after tripling.
Coupons that state DND (do not double) that start with a 5on the barcode will automatically triple.
There is no limit to the number of like coupons however, please be considerate of your fellow couponers and keep it to a reasonable number.
You can do multiple trips a day IF your store allows it.

If you followed the advice in coupon 101, here are more tricks of the trade

Organizing your coupons
If you have been collecting blinkies, tearpads, insert coupons, hangtags etc you are probably wondering how to organize the pile sitting near your computer. Most couponers use 1 of 2 methods.

Accordian File - you can buy accordian files at your local office supply store and organize however it makes sense to you (some organize by store aisile, some alphabetically, some by product type - condiments, health & beauty etc).

Binder Method - a zippered binder with baseball card inserts (find them at the front of Target where they sell trading cards) organized however it makes sense to you (some organize by store asile, some alphabetically, some by product type - condiments, health & beauty etc).

Bringing all your coupons with you as its advantages. You may find great unadvertised or clearanced items you want to take advantage of.

With couponing the smallest size is usually the best deal
Wholesale clubs may have convinced you bigger is better but it is not true. Often the smallest size is free or cheap with coupons.

Ask for Rainchecks

Rainchecks are a great way to save money. Remember even if they are out of one flavor or scent you can ask for a raincheck. Just go to the customer service desk and request one. Rainchecks often expire in 1 month to a year - at Harris Teeter they never expire! By the time you are ready to redeem your raincheck, you may have found a better coupon or maybe it is triples!

When does Harris Teeter have Triples?

In 2009 Harris Teeter started running triples every month, towards the end of the month. They have been running a full week (Wednesday- Tuesday) and start 7 am on Wednesday and end at midnight on Tuesday. Please note 24 hour stores DO NOT start tripling after midnight.  At the end of June 2009 tried Super Doubles - coupons up to $1.98 doubled so a $1 coupon became $2

Can I get overage at Harris Teeter?
HT recently changed their computers and we are no longer getting overage.

How many trips can I make a day?
The official policy is they will only double/triple 20 coupons per day per household with your VIC card. This is now register enforced.

What are the coupon limits?
They are the same as regular doubles - which is they will triple all coupons .99 and under, limit of 2 like IPs, IPs accepted only if they scan and no expired coupons.

Can I use rainchecks during triples?
This is one of my favorite money saving strategies - I always ask for a raincheck if one flavor/kind, etc is out and save them for triples. Also, if an item is out of stock during triples, you can get a raincheck for the sale price, but you can’t get a raincheck for the triple coupon part of it.

My coupon says “Do Not Double.” Will it triple?
At Harris Teeter if the barcode starts with the “5″ it will triple. If it starts with a “9″ it will not. If you are a Food Lion shopper too please note blinkies at Food Lion start with a “5,” I get mine there and use them at HT. HT’s blinkies start with “9.”

Do they restock product?
Yes. Harris Teeter restocks their product through out triples. If your store is out of the product ask them to check in the back or ask when their next truck comes in and what time they restock. Also remember since HT is running triples so frequently ask for a raincheck. That way you can use your raincheck next triples and find the product easily!

Any other tips?
Items that have coupons that came out most recently go the quickest. Plan on getting those early in the am or find out when they plan on restocking. Save your non inserts for the last day. Generally unless an items is on sale, free or very cheap it is NOT the best deal during triples. You can find better deals during regular doubles so don’t clip all your .75/1 coupons and use them just becaue they triple up to $2.25.

Another benefit to e-VIC is you will receive a special sale price on one product that is only available if you sign up. The discount is automatically taken at the register, no coupons to clip or carry. Other than the single e-mail on Wednesday mornings, you will not receive any other e-mails or spam.

When does the sale ad run?

Sales begin on Wednesday and end on Tuesday evening at midnight.

What is ExpressLane?

ExpressLane is HT’s online shopping service. You can place an order online and pick it up at your local HT. There is a $4.95 service fee (waved your first time). You can use coupons with ExpressLane, but they are taken off your next order.

Is there another benefit to ExpressLane?

Yes! Couponers love ExpressLane! Why? Because around 2:30 pm every Tuesday the next week sale prices go live. It is a great way to check prices without having to go to the store. That way you’ll know of any surprise sales and can bring those coupons with you. ExpressLane is another valuable tool when you are getting ready for triples.

Does Harris Teeter issue rainchecks?

Yes HT issues rainchecks with a limit of 3. On BOGO items you would be allowed to get a total of 6. The best thing about HT rainchecks is they never expire and can be used at any Harris Teeter! Many couponers like getting rainchecks and redeeming them during triples for even greater savings.

What type of coupons does Harris Teeter accept?

HT accepts manufacturer’s coupons, winetags, catalina’s, internet printables, blinkies, as well as competitors coupons $/$ coupons. Please note HT does not take Target and Food Lion internet printables or competitor’s store coupons for $ off a specific items (such as Lowes Food 4 Weeks coupons or BJ’s coupons)

Does Harris Teeter double coupons?

Yes! HT will double up to a face value of $.99 everyday. That means a .50 coupon is worth $1, a .75 coupon is worth $1.50. Coupons that are $1 or more are redeemed at face value. This includes internet printables, insert coupons, hangtags, tearpads, blinkies and WTs.

What about the coupons that say “DO NOT DOUBLE” at the top?

Generally coupons that start with “5” (look at the numbers by the barcode) will automatically double and coupons that start with “9” will not. If you are a Food Lion shopper too please note blinkies at Food Lion start with a “5,” I get mine there and use them at HT. HT’s blinkies start with “9.”

Are there other rules/restrictions for doubling?

1) They will double up to three identical items with manufacturer coupon; however this is cashier enforced. Also some couponers interpret the “three identical items” as if you buy 3 of one flavor, you can use 3 like coupons, 3 of another flavor you can use 3 like coupons etc. It is YMMV and up to what you feel comfortable doing.

2) The official policy is they will only double/triple 20 coupons per day per household with your Vic card. However, your card will allow you to make up to 5 trips a day before it cuts you off (up to 20 each time). Please note some stores/managers don’t mind multiple trips, but some stores do so follow your store’s rules.

3) No expired coupons.

4) No internet printables for “FREE” items. Limit of 2 IP’s per product, per store visit, per day. They will not accept IP’s that do not appear to be originals or do not scan. The 2 IP rule is often misread by shoppers and cashiers alike as only 2 IPs per trip. This is not so, it is 2 per manufacturer. So if you buy 2 Kellogg’s items, you can use 2 IPs, 2 P&G products you can use 2 IPs, and so on.

5) They accept only ONE coupon for Buy One Get One Free items. However items ring up at half price so you can use buy one item and use 1 coupon to get the best deal. You can do multiple transactions to get a good deal!

Catalina Promotions:

From time to time Harris Teeter will run a catalina promotion. A catalina is a coupon that prints out at the registers and is good on your next order. These deals can be combined with coupons to make them an even better deal.

My Catalina coupon didn’t print what should I do?

A1: Go to the customer service desk and explain (generally I like to have a copy of the promotion from the website in hand so I have proof). Many times HT customer service will issue you cash on the spot.
A2: 1-888-8coupon, option 3
